Two week countdown
Housing
I wish that, in looking for apartments, you could negotiate, like with cars. I would GLADLY trade a dishwasher for more square footage, as I figure it might be nice to be able to put a bed and a dresser in our bedroom. In a heartbeat, I would trade air conditioning for washer/dryer connections and welcome the ability to negotiate price! It is, unfortunately, not that ideal and we’re down to two weeks without, really, any solid leads, or idea of how much to get rid of! We have decided that we would like to, at furthest south, be in the Mountain View area (where Google is located.) We are trying to look from there to Redwood City. We’ve both had a constant monitor on Craigslist searches and are soliciting as many personal referrals and as much advice as we can get. I’m still working on my shock about how much more apartments there cost and how much smaller they are.. and about the fact that almost none of them have in-apartment laundry!

We WERE able to rent our Atlanta apartment within MINUTES of posting it, so that is done. I was so grateful to have Keith and Billye Green help me pack this weekend. It is quite a task! I think we got a little too ambitious in packing some things. Chris and Lauren Weems came over on Saturday for cupcakes and wine after dinner. Since we had packed all of our wine tools, Chris pulled out a cork with a screw. Do what you have to do, right?
